PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Malcolm Lancaster (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brian Serrano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lancaster comes into the arena with Bed Intruder blaring out of the sound system. Brian Serrano will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Malcolm Lancaster!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Brian Serrano!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Dean Styles and Jorge Garcia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lancaster shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Serrano as he avoids it easily.
Lancaster connects with a looping right hand.
Serrano tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Serrano is countered with a crisp right hand from Lancaster that sends him to the canvas! Lancaster follows him to the mat into side control.


Serrano is rocked!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
You can see the frustration on Serrano's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Serrano is still in real trouble! Can Lancaster finish him?
Lancaster wants to control but Serrano is keeping him busy.

Lancaster is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Serrano knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Serrano seems to have recovered his senses.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lancaster tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Lancaster has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Serrano prevents Lancaster from improving position.
Lancaster sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Serrano is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

Lancaster tries for a kimura but Serrano is defending well.

Serrano is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Lancaster's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Serrano has hold of Lancaster's hands but Lancaster slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Lancaster is looking for a kimura but Serrano is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Lancaster to get the leverage.

Lancaster is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Serrano sees it coming and defends easily.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Lancaster looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Lancaster moves into full mount! Serrano won't be happy about that!

Lancaster looking to secure an arm triangle but Serrano defends it well.
Lancaster lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Serrano hang on?

Lancaster is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Serrano has managed to escape the submission attempt.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
The referee warns Serrano that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Serrano holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Lancaster tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.

Lancaster goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Serrano is on top in guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Malcolm Lancaster dominated that round.
That's time! Lancaster's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Serrano on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Serrano tries to clinch but Lancaster moves out of range.
Serrano tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Lancaster manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Lancaster pounces like a tiger and cracks Serrano with a vicious hook! Serrano is down but not out! Lancaster follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:27 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Malcolm Lancaster!
