Carwin has chosen kill or be killed as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Chris Hansen has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Paulsen Ambrosius and Wagner Zegers.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hansen misses with a lunging right hand

and Carwin counters with a shoot takedown. Hansen fights it but they end up in guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Carwin trying to control but Hansen is working from the bottom.
Carwin throws a big right hand that misses.
Carwin cracks Hansen with a solid left hand.
Carwin wants to control from the top but Hansen keeps moving.
Hansen wants to stand but Carwin is controlling the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Carwin trying to control but Hansen is working from the bottom.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Hansen is on top in guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hansen postures up in Carwin's guard and throws a big left but Carwin blocks it.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Hansen lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Carwin trying to keep a closed guard but Hansen is proving a slippery customer.
Hansen tries to free his leg and advance position but Carwin is retaining full guard.

Carwin looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Carwin is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Carwin working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Hansen.
Hansen lands a couple of digs.

Carwin looking for a guillotine here but Hansen defends easily.
Carwin wants to stand and escape but Hansen is having none of it.

Hansen stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Carwin swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Hansen throws a big right hand that misses.

Hansen avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Hansen postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Carwin has an active guard here but Hansen has managed to pass into half guard.
