Opay's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Release me. Glasgow has chosen Sail by Armin van Buuren as his entrance music. This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kampay Opay!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tom Glasgow!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Kenichi Hosakawa and Shirou Masuda.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fighters circle momentarily. Glasgow darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Opay will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Opay shoots and misses
and Glasgow counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Glasgow shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Opay eats them both and turns towards Glasgow to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.


It looks like Kampay Opay has been cut.
Glasgow bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Opay's head.
Nice takedown defense from Glasgow. No joy for Opay on that attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kampay Opay. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Glasgow fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Opay tries to score a power double leg takedown but Glasgow sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Opay somewhat.

Opay closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Opay lands in his opponent's guard.

Glasgow had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Opay defends it easily.
Opay pushes down on Glasgow's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Glasgow is looking for a sweep. Opay is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Opay throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Glasgow works his way to full guard. Good work.
Opay makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Opay has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Opay distracts Glasgow with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Opay in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Glasgow is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Opay loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Opay advances to half guard.
Opay thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Glasgow's head.
Opay thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Glasgow is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Opay pulls his head out easily.

Opay is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Glasgow!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Glasgow is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Opay postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Glasgow in real trouble here! The ref calls for Glasgow to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Kampay Opay!
