The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Crunch circles away from the clinch attempt.
Crunch looks to land a left hand but Johnson moved out of range nicely.
Crunch misses with a hook

and Johnson decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Crunch's guard.

Crunch has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Johnson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Crunch is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Johnson is aware though and is defending well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Johnson missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Johnson postures up in Crunch's guard and throws a big left but Crunch blocks it.
Johnson throws a big right hand that misses.
Crunch is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Johnson wants to control from the top but Crunch keeps moving.
Crunch has control of Johnson's left arm, preventing Johnson from doing any damage.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Johnson uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Crunch.
A telegraphed right hand from Johnson misses the target.
Johnson tries to score a power double leg takedown but Crunch sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Johnson somewhat.
Johnson shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Crunch pinned against the cage. Crunch gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Johnson is looking to clinch but Crunch is avoiding it.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Johnson tries to pull guard but Crunch holds him up against the cage and eventually Johnson drops back down to his feet.
Crunch prevents a takedown attempt there.
Crunch presses Johnson against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
Crunch can't break the clinch.
Crunch scores with a nice hook to the head.
A nice left hand lands by Crunch.
Johnson is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Crunch pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Crunch pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

The fighters circle momentarily. Crunch darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Crunch feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Johnson sprawling to the canvas! Johnson rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Crunch finish him?!

Johnson is rocked!

It looks like Nate Johnson has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Johnson tries to get into range but Crunch steps to the side and lands a beautiful hook that drops Johnson! He's faceplanted into the mat, ass in the air... he's out cold! That's an image he won't want to show his grandkids when he gets older! Crunch scores the big KO victory!
