Takeshi has chosen All That Remains - Chiron as his entrance music. Yoshiro Takeshi is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kaito Saruwatari!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Yoshiro Takeshi!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Hirohito Nitta and Shirou Masuda.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Takeshi misses with a takedown attempt - Saruwatari sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Takeshi shoots in looking for a takedown but Saruwatari manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Takeshi's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
The fight stays on the outside here - Takeshi looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Takeshi shoots for a double leg takedown but Saruwatari sprawls well. He's pushed Takeshi's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

It looks like Yoshiro Takeshi has been cut.
Takeshi shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Saruwatari pinned against the cage. Saruwatari gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Takeshi shoots in for a takedown but Saruwatari shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

and Saruwatari cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Saruwatari tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Takeshi scores with a takedown into Saruwatari's guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Saruwatari is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Takeshi fails with the takedown
and Saruwatari counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Takeshi throws a combination. Saruwatari tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Takeshi shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Saruwatari as he jumps to the side.
Saruwatari avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Kaito Saruwatari will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Yoshiro Takeshi's cut.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Saruwatari leaves Takeshi with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Saruwatari is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Takeshi.
Saruwatari keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Saruwatari displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Takeshi.
Kaito Saruwatari has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Yoshiro Takeshi.
Takeshi walks into a left hand.

Takeshi tries to clinch there but Saruwatari circles away.
Saruwatari throws a head kick but Takeshi moves out of range.

Saruwatari stuffs the takedown attempt from Takeshi. Takeshi gets slowly back to his feet.

Takeshi has closed the distance and engaged Saruwatari in a clinch.
Takeshi wants a takedown but no success here.
Saruwatari is trying to break the clinch but Takeshi has him pressed against the cage.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Takeshi successfully pulls guard.
Takeshi not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Saruwatari has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Saruwatari is looking to stand up but Takeshi won't let him.

Saruwatari stands up from Takeshi's guard - Saruwatari perhaps looking for a knockout.
Saruwatari lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Takeshi is breathing heavily.
Takeshi tries for a takedown but Saruwatari circles away easily

and Saruwatari counters with a crisp right hand that drops Takeshi! Saruwatari lets Takeshi back up to his feet, looking for a finish!


Takeshi is rocked!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Takeshi is looking to clinch but Saruwatari is avoiding it.

Takeshi fails with a takedown attempt.
Saruwatari lands with a hook. Takeshi tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Takeshi is still on wobbly legs! Can Saruwatari finish him?
Saruwatari connects with a single shot there.
Takeshi seems to have recovered his senses.


The cut above Yoshiro Takeshi's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Takeshi avoids the head kick by Saruwatari.
Takeshi is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kaito Saruwatari dominated that second round.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Saruwatari avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Kaito Saruwatari is winning the standup battle so far.
Takeshi fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Saruwatari avoids it really well and circles away.
Takeshi misses with a takedown
and Saruwatari counters with an inside leg kick.
Saruwatari throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.

Saruwatari cracks Takeshi with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Saruwatari has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Takeshi to stand back up!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Saruwatari lands a big right hook! Takeshi looks hurt but is still standing! Saruwatari lands a left jab and another right hook! This time Takeshi falls down and Saruwatari dives in with a huge hammer fist! Takeshi's eyes roll back! The referee calls for the bell and Saruwatari runs up the cage to celebrate with his fans!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:58 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Kaito Saruwatari!
A pretty intense looking Kaito Saruwatari took the opportunity post-fight to ask for a shot at the title.
