The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Waitzel slaps away a takedown attempt from Aoki, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Waitzel dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Aoki tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Waitzel was well out of range. Poor timing from Aoki.
Aoki swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Aoki slips under a jab.
Aoki throws a hook but Waitzel avoids it easily.
Good work by Aoki as he checks the leg kick.
Aoki misses with a wild body shot.

Waitzel scores with a jab to the body.
Aoki moves out of range of the strikes.
Waitzel connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.

Aoki takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

Waitzel drives through and clinches with Aoki against the cage.

Aoki throws a punch but it's blocked by Waitzel.

Waitzel lands a hook that snaps the head of Aoki backwards.

Waitzel leaves Aoki with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Waitzel uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Aoki has time to react.
Aoki moves away from the strike by Waitzel.
Aoki throws a leg kick but Waitzel sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Aoki throws a nice looking combination but Waitzel bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Waitzel moves in looking to clinch but Aoki pushes him off.
Waitzel swings for the body but Aoki moves out of range.
Aoki punishes Waitzel's body with a nice straight punch.
Aoki misses with a shot to the body
and Waitzel counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Aoki is rocked!
Waitzel knocks out Aoki with a massive right hand! The ref tackles Waitzel before he can follow up with any more strikes and that's it everyone. Waitzel picks up the big W with a huge KO!
