Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 8 - 1, fighting out of London, Keast Kann!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 12 - 0, fighting out of London, Brett James!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Donald Grub and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
James fails to land with a series of punches.
Kann misses with a body shot.

James gets caught napping as Kann dives in and scores a takedown. James manages to retain guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Kann with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Kann throwing strikes but missing.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
James is trying to control the position but Kann postures up.
James tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Kann throws a big elbow that misses.
Kann working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Kann is in close to James's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Kann has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
James utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
James wants to stand up but Kann is controlling him.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kann looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks James with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Brett James has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Kann misses with a wild combination.
James tries to bum rush Kann with a series of wild strikes but Kann uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
James throws a low kick but Kann avoids it.

and Kann counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

James gets caught flat footed, as Kann shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Kann throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Kann lands a couple of digs.
Kann forces his way into half guard.
Kann not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Kann landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

Kann is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

The fighters are battling for position here. James manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
James has momentary wrist control but Kann slips an elbow through the middle.
Kann is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Keast Kann dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Kann goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
James fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Kann avoids it really well and circles away.
Kann lands a really nice looking cross but James seems unphased.
James takes a jab right on the kisser.
Kann smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Kann scores with a nice strike.
Brett James seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
James misses with a double jab.
James takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Kann fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Kann misses with a few strikes there.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
James throws a good cross that connects.
James ducks under a wild hook from Kann.
Kann gets cracked with a nice right hand there by James.

That's one minute gone in the round.
James lands with a shot to the body.
James misses with a series of wild punches.
James throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Kann sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
No joy there for James, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Kann connects with the punch.
Kann takes one to the side of the head.


Kann is rocked!
James throws a head kick that misses.
Oh Kann is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
James swings for the body but Kann moves out of range.
Kann takes a swing at James's ribcage but misses.
James cracks Kann with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! Kann falls to his knees and James doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:42 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Brett James!
Brett James is the new featherweight champion!
