PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between dmitri petrov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jay Guily (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that dmitri petrov has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily dmitri petrov seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Andrew Berry and Donald Grub.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Guily throws an uppercut from half a mile away. petrov sees it coming and avoids it easily.
petrov shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Guily as he jumps to the side.
Horrible takedown by petrov or perhaps it was just good defense by Guily which made him look bad.
petrov shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Guily pinned against the cage. Guily gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for dmitri petrov. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Guily takes the fight into the clinch.

petrov ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. petrov no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Guily stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. petrov swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Guily is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Guily's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Guily tries to free his leg and advance position but petrov is retaining full guard.
Guily stays in close to petrov's body and controls the position.

Guily stands up and waves to petrov to follow him.
petrov shoots in for a takedown but Guily shows good takedown defense.
petrov blocks a jab.

Guily closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Guily lands in his opponent's guard.

Guily avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Guily not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Guily wants to control from the top but petrov keeps moving.
Guily wants to stand but petrov is controlling his posture from full guard.
Guily wants to pass the guard but petrov is keeping the position.

petrov is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

and Guily counters with a two punch combo.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!

Guily gets to his feet - petrov follows without any prompting.
Guily tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Guily knocks petrov to the floor with a head kick! Can he finish him!?

petrov is rocked!

It looks like dmitri petrov has been cut.
Guily in side control here. He's dropped a big elbow there and petrov looks hurt! Oh, he is hurt! Guily turns on the heat and pounds him out for a TKO victory! Good killer instinct there!
