PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between JR Summers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lucciano Cool (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Summers comes to the cage accompanied by Before I Forgot. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lucciano Cool!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Frank Dennis and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cool drives through with a takedown into Summers's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Summers striking off his back but it's not causing Cool any problems.

Summers is working Cool over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Cool is looking for a triangle but Summers pushes his legs off easily.

Cool utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Summers is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Cool is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Cool has escaped and now he's on top!

Cool has gone for a leg lock! Summers slips out almost immediately though and dives into Cool's guard.

Summers is looking to stand up but Cool won't let him.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Cool changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Summers tries to avoid it but Cool manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Summers to the ground. Summers escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Summers shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Summers was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Summers lands a big shot there that rocks Cool but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Summers tries to control but Cool wriggling away.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Cool is trying desperately to improve position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that JR Summers will probably get the nod.

Cool drops back looking for a leg! Summers is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Summers manages to kick Cool off! Cool jumps back into Summers's guard.

Cool thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Summers knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Cool on the ground.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

That was a close second round but I would say that JR Summers will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Summers misses with a takedown attempt

Cool has his foot on Summers's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Summers works his way back into a safe position though.

Summers is pushing down on Cool's leg trying to pass to half guard. Cool is fighting to maintain full guard but Summers has managed to sneak the leg through.
Summers is nestled in close to Cool, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Summers connects with a nice short shot to Cool's temple.
Lucciano Cool has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
JR Summers is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
