PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jax Teller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lino Bastardi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bastardi has chosen Indestructible- Disturbed as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Teller closes the distance and clinches.
Teller gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Bastardi.
Bastardi tries to pull guard but Teller won't allow it.

Teller breaks the clinch.
Bastardi avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Bastardi looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Jax Teller has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lino Bastardi.
Teller jabs Bastardi to the body, keeping him at a distance.

Teller clinches with his opponent.
Bastardi is trying to pull guard but Teller turns him against the ropes and we stay in the clinch.

Bastardi changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Teller fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Teller misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Teller moves into the clinch successfully.
Bastardi has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Teller avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Teller is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the ropes.

Teller has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Bastardi clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Teller is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Bastardi is defending well though. Teller let's go of the attempt for now.
Teller doesn't have the hooks in and Bastardi manages to turn into his guard.

Teller is not content to let Bastardi control the position.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Bastardi is looking to take a break and control but Teller is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Bastardi thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Bastardi shoots in for a takedown but Teller shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Teller is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Bastardi is defending well for now.

Teller pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Teller has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Teller turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Teller manages to end up in side control.

Bastardi is pressing down on Teller's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Teller stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bastardi swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Bastardi working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Teller doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Teller manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Teller looking to sit in guard and control but Bastardi gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Bastardi throws a big elbow that misses.

Bastardi drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Teller manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Bastardi has Teller in his guard.
Bastardi seems keen to control Teller's posture.

Bastardi is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Bastardi is trying to control the position but Teller postures up.

Teller is sitting in close to Bastardi's body. Bastardi has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Teller is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Teller is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Bastardi.
