The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pynchon avoids a punch combination nicely.
Moretti misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Pynchon is defended easily by Moretti.
Moretti rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Pynchon moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A slow jab from Pynchon misses its intended target.
Pynchon fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Pynchon bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

You can see the frustration on Moretti's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
