Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Marshall Arts (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brock Shamrock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shamrock is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Enter Sandman. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Brock Shamrock was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Marshall Arts!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Brock Shamrock!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Bruno Hogan and Hugh Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Arts plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Shamrock checks a low kick from Arts.
Marshall Arts seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Arts moves into the clinch successfully.
Arts lands an elbow just above Shamrock 's eye.


It looks like Brock Shamrock has been cut.

Arts breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Sloppy strikes from Shamrock. Those never looked like landing.
Arts is looking to clinch.
Shamrock throws a right and a left that Arts avoids nicely.
Shamrock tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

and Arts makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.

Arts moves into range and clinches up with Shamrock.
Arts landing some nice looking knees to the body.
Arts unloads a knee to the mid-section. Shamrock lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
Shamrock tries to break free but Arts pushes him back against the cage.

Arts breaks from the clinch.
A swing and a miss from Shamrock.
Arts lands a front kick.

Arts scores with a jab to the body.
Arts throws a head kick but Shamrock moves out of range.
A head kick misses from Arts.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Arts lands a nice leg kick that just misses Shamrock's sensitive parts.

Arts clinches.
Shamrock wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Arts has him pressed against the cage.
Arts lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!

Arts breaks the clinch.
Arts fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Shamrock has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Good work by Shamrock as he checks the leg kick.
Arts pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Shamrock avoids the head kick by Arts.
Shamrock throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Shamrock fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Arts throws a nice outside leg kick.
Shamrock takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Arts does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
A slapping body kick lands there for Arts.
Arts throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Shamrock just misses with a punch to the body.
Shamrock misses with a combination
and Arts counters with a nice leg kick.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Arts chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Arts throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Shamrock's head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Arts takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Arts lands a nice leg kick that just misses Shamrock's sensitive parts.

and Arts counters with a leg kick.
Brock Shamrock is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

and Arts counters with a nice low kick that buckles Shamrock's knee momentarily.

Arts tries to close the distance and clinch up but Shamrock swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Shamrock throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Arts.
Shamrock's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
Arts uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Marshall Arts is winning the standup battle so far.

Arts throws a low kick but it's checked well by Shamrock.
Arts dodges the punch combination from Shamrock.

Shamrock tries to keep at a distance but Arts has taken the fight into the clinch.

Arts escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Shamrock misses with a double jab.
Shamrock swats away the attempt to clinch by Arts.
A combination from Shamrock does no damage.

Shamrock keeps the fight on the outside.
Arts has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.
Arts tries a head kick but it misses.
Arts throws a body punch but Shamrock moves out of range.

Shamrock tries to bum rush Arts with a series of wild strikes but Arts uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Arts fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Shamrock, pushing him back against the cage.

Shamrock wants to get back to striking at distance but Arts won't allow it.

Arts escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Arts tries to work over Shamrock's front leg with a kick but Shamrock checks it.
The fight stays on the outside here - Arts looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Arts connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Arts plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Arts feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Shamrock's calf.

Arts has Shamrock up against the cage in a clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Arts tries to close the distance and clinch up but Shamrock swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Arts lands with a thumping leg kick.
Shamrock on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Arts. Arts obviously looking to wear him down.

Arts moves into the clinch successfully.

Arts manages to break the clinch.
Arts throws the kick towards the body but Shamrock avoids it.

Shamrock's jab looks to have found its range, popping Arts under the eye.
Shamrock throws a lazy right hand but Arts sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Arts misses with a hook to the body
and Shamrock counters with a nice uppercut.
Shamrock throws a series of punches but Arts avoids them all with ease.
Shamrock circles away from the clinch attempt.
Arts is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Shamrock can do to turn this around?

Arts throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.

Arts turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

Arts will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
