Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Junior Maia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tomasz Kacprzak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Junior Maia!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Tomasz Kacprzak!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Daniel Blasius and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maia wants to clinch up but Kacprzak keeps it at a distance.
Nice takedown defense from Kacprzak. No joy for Maia on that attempt.
Kacprzak comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Maia with a lazy takedown attempt
and Kacprzak counters with a three punch combo that has Maia backing up. Maia nods at Kacprzak to acknowledge the strikes.
Kacprzak dips to his left and cracks Maia with an uppercut!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Maia is looking to clinch.
Kacprzak takes a swing at Maia's ribcage but misses.
Maia tries for a takedown but Kacprzak circles away easily
and Kacprzak finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Junior Maia. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Maia with a poor takedown
and Kacprzak counters with a stiff right hand.
Maia is breathing heavily.
Kacprzak fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Maia looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Junior Maia seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kacprzak moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Kacprzak fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Kacprzak throws a right and a left that Maia avoids nicely.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Maia. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

Maia fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Kacprzak to the ground. Maia is now in Kacprzak's guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Kacprzak has Maia pulled in close to control his posture.
Kacprzak looking to hit a scissor sweep but Maia is one step ahead there.

Maia is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kacprzak wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Tomasz Kacprzak wasn't active enough on the ground.
Maia shoots in looking for a takedown but Kacprzak manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Maia's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Maia with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Kacprzak to score with a decent uppercut.

Kacprzak lands a big shot that drops Maia! Can he finish him?


Maia is rocked!


It looks like Junior Maia has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Kacprzak tries to free his leg and advance position but Maia is retaining full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Maia is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Kacprzak with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Maia trying to keep a closed guard but Kacprzak is proving a slippery customer.

Maia has his foot on Kacprzak's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Kacprzak works his way back into a safe position though.

Kacprzak stands up and waves to Maia to follow him.
Maia on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Kacprzak connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.

Kacprzak throws a big overhand right that connects, sending Maia tumbling to the canvas!
Oh Maia is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Kacprzak postures up from his opponent's guard, before exploding into some vicious ground and pound! Maia covers up, he's hurt! Kacprzak keeps throwing the strikes, glancing at the referee... Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Kacprzak and the ref steps in to end the fight! Kacprzak can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tomasz Kacprzak!
