Vernon comes to the cage accompanied by Ari Gold - Let's Hug It Out, BITCH. Dai Vernon could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Floyd Mayweather Jr's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mayweather Jr scores with a crisp jab that stopped Vernon in his tracks.

Mayweather Jr throws a series of punches but Vernon avoids them all with ease.

Vernon lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Vernon rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Mayweather Jr moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Mayweather Jr feints a jab promting Vernon to slip. Mayweather Jr then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Vernon slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Vernon bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Vernon looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Mayweather Jr with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Vernon has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Mayweather Jr uses from the top position.
