The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Taormina misses with a double jab.

and Guy counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.

Taormina forces Guy back against the cage and clinches.
Taormina makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.

Taormina wants the takedown. Guy is fighting it off but Taormina persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Guy's guard against the cage.
Guy is trying to keep Taormina in close.
Guy throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Guy trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
Guy controls Taormina momentarily but Taormina frees himself.
Taormina trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Taormina stands and steps away. Guy gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Taormina lands with a shot to the body.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
No joy there for Taormina, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Taormina fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Guy is breathing heavily.

Taormina moves into the clinch successfully.
Guy managing to block the knees to the body from Taormina.

Taormina breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Guy showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Taormina.

A jab-cross combination lands for Taormina and sends Guy crashing to the mat! Taormina follows him down to the mat - Guy regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!

It looks like Johnny Guy has been cut.

Taormina takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Taormina is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, Guy is hurt! He's hurt bad - Taormina fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save Guy from any more punishment! Congratulations to Taormina! Great finish!
