Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 22 - 12 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Christopher Reyes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Freddy James!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, William Peck and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reyes walks into a jab.
Reyes showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from James.
Reyes keeps the fight on the outside.

James comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Reyes slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

Reyes connects with a single shot there.

James dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Reyes uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from James.
James throws a head kick but Reyes moves out of range.

James takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Reyes takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Reyes misses with a hook
and James counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
James is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Reyes rather than just go for the knockout.
Nice uppercut lands for James. That snapped Reyes's head back.
Reyes will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
James's jab looks to have found its range, popping Reyes under the eye.

James tries to bum rush Reyes with a series of wild strikes but Reyes uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Reyes crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from James - the referee stops the clock and Reyes gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says James. Reyes manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

James punishes Reyes's body with a nice straight punch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

James takes a swing at Reyes's ribcage but misses.
James misses with a head kick.
James doesn't manage to clinch there - Reyes circles away.
James looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Reyes chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before James can pounce on him.
James scores with a hook to the body. Reyes takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
The fighters circling - James throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Christopher Reyes is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
James loads up on a big right hand but Reyes slips the punch.
James swings away with a leg kick that misses.

Reyes throws a hook but James blocks it.

James ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
James falls off balance throwing a combination
and Reyes counters with a three punch combo that has James backing up. James nods at Reyes to acknowledge the strikes.
Reyes misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from James.
James tries to close the distance and clinch but Reyes swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
James walks into a straight right hand from Reyes.
James dips to his left and cracks Reyes with an uppercut!
James looks to score with a jab to the body but Reyes is just out of range.
Reyes keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

James closes the distance and pushes Reyes back into the cage.
James lands with a light punch inside.
Reyes tries to throw a body punch but James avoids it by throwing Reyes back against the cage.
James blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Reyes wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but James has him pressed against the cage.

James is trying to stall.
James unloads a knee to the mid-section. Reyes lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
A head punch on the inside from Reyes fails to land.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, James creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
James misses with a shot to the kidneys.
James lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
James tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Reyes's elbow.
Reyes looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
James tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
James lands a nice uppercut.

Reyes has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from James.
Reyes bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of James's head.
Reyes takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Reyes throws the left hand but James avoids the punch easily.
James jabbing away but nothing is landing.

The fight stays on the outside here - James looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Reyes has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Freddy James seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Reyes misses with a hook. James ducked under it nicely.

James turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

Freddy James comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well James has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
