PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Gee Damn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Damien Quincy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Quincy comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Requiem for a Dream kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gee Damn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Damien Quincy!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Dillan Fox and Yves DeLean.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Quincy throws a right and a left that Damn avoids nicely.
Damn throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Quincy throws a looping overhand right but Damn ducks down to avoid it.
Damn keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Quincy.
Quincy lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Damn dodges the punch combination from Quincy.
Quincy looks to land a combination but Damn avoids it well.
Quincy avoids a kick to the body.
Damn scores with a jab to the body.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Damn.
Quincy misses with a body shot.
Damn scores with a nice body kick.

Quincy wants to clinch up but Damn keeps it at a distance.
A nice leg kick lands there from Damn.
Quincy tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Damn manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Quincy crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Damn - the referee stops the clock and Quincy gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Damn. Quincy manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Damn lands an overhand right.
Damn pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Damn tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Quincy was well out of range. Poor timing from Damn.
Damn misses with a head kick.
Quincy swings for the body but Damn moves out of range.
Damn throws a hook to the side of Quincy's head but Quincy sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Damn throws the kick towards the body but Quincy avoids it.
Gee Damn is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Quincy throws a series of punches but Damn moves out of range.
Quincy clobbers Damn with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Damn steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Quincy.
Damn thuds his shin into the meat of Quincy's side.
Damn throws a leg kick but Quincy sees it coming and moves out of range.
Damn tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Damn fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Quincy manages to avoid it.
Quincy throws a leg kick but Damn checks it.
Quincy scores with a hook.
Damn lands with a right hand.
Quincy moves out of range as Damn strikes.

Damn misses with a hook
and Quincy counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Damn avoids a punch combination nicely.

Damn darts in and clinches Quincy up against the cage.
Damn tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Quincy's elbow.
Damn lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Damn can't find room to land a body shot as Quincy controls the action.
Quincy is looking to control Damn's arms but Damn gets an underhook and turns him. Now Quincy has his back to the cage.
Damn lands a nice elbow.
Damn tries to land knees in the clinch but Quincy avoids the damage to the body.
Damn digs a right hand into Quincy's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Quincy's gas tank.

Damn manages to break the clinch.

Quincy scores with a nice head shot.
Quincy takes one to the chin there.
Damn pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Quincy checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Quincy throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Damn counters with a good low kick that Quincy was not able to check.
Quincy thows a body shot but no joy.
Quincy is looking to clinch but Damn is avoiding it.
A jab from Damn does it's job there.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Damn pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Quincy back to the cage. Damn follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Gee Damn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Damn clinches with his opponent.
A battle for position here, against the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gee Damn dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Damn lands a nice shot that snaps Quincy's head back.
Quincy moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Damn throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.

enabling Damn to counter with a crisp jab.
Damn ducks under a wild hook from Quincy.
Damn lands a really nice looking cross but Quincy seems unphased.
A looping hook to the body misses from Quincy. Damn does a little dance to reset his feet.
Quincy takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Quincy throws a lazy right hand but Damn sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Gee Damn is winning the standup battle so far.
Damn throws a shot to the body.

Quincy takes a swing at Damn's ribcage but misses.
Damn misses with a kick to the body.
Damn bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Quincy's head.
Damn scores with a jab. Quincy acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Damn throws a body punch but Quincy moves out of range.
Quincy staying out of range there.
Quincy lands a jab to the nose.
Quincy is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Damn uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

Quincy takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Quincy feints and as Damn raises his hands in defense, Quincy changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Damn wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Damn wants to get back to his feet but Quincy is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Damn, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
