The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tanil looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Barka is fending him off so far but Tanil persists. Nope, Barka circles away and we're back to standing.
Tanil shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Barka sprawls well. Barka wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Tanil gets slowly back to his feet.

Hannabil Barka has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Josaf Tanil.
Tanil slaps away a takedown attempt from Barka, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Tanil decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

and Barka counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Tanil's guard now.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Barka is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Tanil is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Barka wants to control from the top but Tanil keeps moving.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Hannabil Barka just wasn't active enough.
Tanil shoots in looking for a takedown. Barka tries to sprawl out of it but Tanil keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Barka manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Barka slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Tanil is looking for a triangle but Barka pushes his legs off easily.
