The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Leite closes the distance looking to clinch
and Pais counters with a slapping leg kick.
Leite misses with a takedown attempt
and Pais counters with a thumping low kick.
Leite gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Pais counters with a shoot takedown. Leite fights it but they end up in guard.
Pais landing some decent shots from guard.
Leite preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Pais throws a big right hand that misses.
Leite tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Pais lands a couple of elbows.
Leite will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Leite escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Pais gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Pais throws a big elbow that misses.
Pais stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Leite swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Pais postures up in Leite's guard and throws a big left but Leite blocks it.
Pais throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Pais works over Leite with some ground and pound from guard.
Pais with a flurry of punches that miss.
Pais postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Leite on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Leite tries to get out of the position.
Pais makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Pais keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Leite's head.

Pais loads up on a big left hand. Leite felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Pais looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Leite can't hide his disappointment, as Pais celebrates the victory.
