Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dallas Delgado (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John McClaine (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dallas Delgado could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to John McClaine's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dallas Delgado!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, John McClaine!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Gregory Folan and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Delgado closes the distance and clinches up with McClaine, looking for a takedown. Delgado pushes McClaine against the cage but McClaine circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
A solid body kick from Delgado.
McClaine uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Delgado.

Delgado moves into the clinch.
Delgado fails to pull the fight into his guard.
McClaine prevents a takedown attempt there.

Delgado wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Delgado shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says McClaine as he avoids it easily.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
McClaine avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

McClaine is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Delgado is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Delgado has escaped and now he's on top!

McClaine is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

That was a close round but I would say that Dallas Delgado will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Delgado doesn't succeed with the takedown

and McClaine counters with a nice double leg into guard.

McClaine drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Delgado dives on top into guard.

Delgado is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, McClaine has managed to free his arm - good work.
Delgado wants to stand up but McClaine is controlling the position.

Delgado takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

and McClaine decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Delgado's guard.
Delgado has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

McClaine avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Delgado has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but McClaine can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Delgado has given up his back - I don’t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.

McClaine is looking for the choke from the back position but Delgado is controlling his hands well.

Delgado is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if McClaine gets his way!

McClaine is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Delgado has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but McClaine has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Delgado taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. McClaine doesn't care though - he's delighted!
