PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ken Hansen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marshall Mathers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mathers is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Superman. Marshall Mathers will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ken Hansen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Marshall Mathers!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Ben Zyskovitsi and Anni Minnemäki.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hansen pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Mathers thows a body kick. Hansen tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Mathers throws a solid leg kick but Hansen takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Mathers.
Hansen throws a body kick despite being completely out of range
and Mathers counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Mathers lands with a nice body punch.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Mathers thows a body shot but no joy.
Hansen tries to close the distance and clinch up but Mathers swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Hansen uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Mathers.

Hansen darts in and clinches Mathers up against the cage.

Mathers pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Hansen scores with a sloppy right hand. Mathers should have avoided that one.
Mathers stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Hansen.
Hansen uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Mathers has time to react.
Mathers jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Hansen chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Mathers can pounce on him.
Mathers throws a lazy right hand but Hansen sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
A punch combination from Mathers misses.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hansen pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Mathers looks to throw the jab but Hansen is out of range.
Hansen shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Mathers pinned against the cage. Mathers gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Hansen pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Mathers lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Mathers connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Hansen thuds his shin into the meat of Mathers's side.
Hansen gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Hansen doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Mathers counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Mathers looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Hansen misses with a takedown attempt
and Mathers counters with a thumping low kick.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ken Hansen. That's going to take a lot out of him.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Mathers takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
A bone on bone clash there as Mathers blocks the leg kick.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Hansen takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Hansen takes one to the side of the head.
Mathers throws a left jab followed by a right to the body, Oh Hansen colapses and takes a barrage of punches from Mathers as he moves to mount! the ref stops the fight and Hansen is left battered and dazed whilst Mathers and his camp cheer!
