Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Richie Castle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Art Brooks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Art Brooks will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Richie Castle!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Art Brooks!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Elvis Blanc and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brooks keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Castle throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Brooks throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Brooks throws a sloppy head kick and Castle moves out of range easily.
Castle misses with a series of wild punches.
Brooks tries to clinch up but Castle circles away and keeps his distance.
Brooks avoids the body shot from Castle.
Castle tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Brooks was well out of range. Poor timing from Castle.

Brooks tries to close the distance and clinch up but Castle swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Castle swings for the body but Brooks moves out of range.
Brooks tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Brooks throws a good cross that connects.
Brooks scores with the left hand. Castle knows he should have avoided that one.
Castle misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Brooks counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Castle is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Castle shoots in but Brooks avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Brooks bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Castle fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Brooks manages to avoid it.
Brooks is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
A bone on bone clash there as Brooks blocks the leg kick.
Castle tries for a takedown but Brooks sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

A punch lands to the side of Castle 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Brooks tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Castle manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Brooks throws a head kick that misses.
Brooks is looking to clinch but Castle is avoiding it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Art Brooks showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Brooks.

Castle closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Brooks to the mat! Brooks manages to get full guard.
Castle has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Brooks is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Castle wants to pass the guard but Brooks is keeping the position.
Brooks can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Castle controls the pace.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Castle slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Art Brooks was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Castle swings widly with a right hand
and Brooks counters with a big head kick but Castle shrugs it off.
Castle swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Brooks lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Nice shot lands for Brooks.

Castle tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Brooks was well out of range. Poor timing from Castle.

Brooks gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Castle to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Brooks looking for a guillotine here but Castle defends easily.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Castle in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Richie Castle.
I think Brooks has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
