Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, George Francis and Robert Twigg.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Staton shoots in but Berry avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Berry shoots for a double leg takedown but Staton sprawls well. He's pushed Berry 's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Staton defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Berry .
Staton misses with a low kick as Berry jumps back.
Staton throws a leg kick that is checked
and Berry counters with a low kick, right behind Staton 's knee.
Staton looks for the body kick but Berry saw that one coming.
Staton thows a leg kick but Berry checks it
and Berry counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Staton pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Staton stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Staton wants it to stay on the feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Berry . That's going to take a lot out of him.
Berry lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Staton circles away quickly and effectively.
Staton swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Staton shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Berry as he avoids it easily.
John Berry seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Berry closes the distance and clinches up with Staton, looking for a takedown. Berry pushes Staton against the cage but Staton circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Staton shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Berry but Berry pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Berry lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Berry .

Staton has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

Staton closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Berry 's guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Staton content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Berry has locked up a guillotine! Berry 's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Staton is holding on here and Berry must be using up a lot of energy. Staton has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Berry gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
