Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Dan Sillva!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Kyrylo Davydenko!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sillva closes the distance and clinches.

Sillva pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Sillva fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Davydenko sprawls well initially but Sillva persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Sillva is looking for a kimura but Davydenko is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Sillva to get the leverage.
Still in half guard, Sillva seems content to control.
Sillva stops Davydenko from getting back to his feet.
Davydenko is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
Sillva content to control rather than advance.
Sillva really is a fat lump.
Sillva passes to full mount!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Davydenko flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
Davydenko wants to try and get back to his feet.
Sillva tries to control but Davydenko wriggling away.

Davydenko has given up his back - I don’t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.

Sillva lands with a nice looking elbow that stuns Davydenko.

Sillva is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Davydenko has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

Sillva is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
Sillva has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Davydenko's body.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Oooh a big shot gets through from Sillva. Many more shots like that and the referee will have to think about stepping in!

Davydenko can't escape the position.
Sillva is looking to control Davydenko but Davydenko is wriggling around and keeping busy.

Sillva is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Davydenko defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

Sillva is looking for the choke from the back position but Davydenko is controlling his hands well.

Sillva is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Davydenko is defending well though. Sillva let's go of the attempt for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Davydenko is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Sillva gets his way!

Sillva is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Sillva feints and as Davydenko raises his hands in defense, Sillva changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Davydenko is wriggling around trying to escape.
Sillva lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Sillva stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.

Davydenko is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Sillva is controlling him.

Sillva gets to his feet - Davydenko follows without any prompting.

Davydenko throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.

Sillva throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Davydenko tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Sillva is in Davydenko's guard.

Sillva wants to control from the top but Davydenko keeps moving.

Sillva decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Davydenko, up you get!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Davydenko is looking to stand back up but Sillva counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Davydenko.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Sillva takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Davydenko throws a strike from the bottom that misses.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Davydenko takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.


It looks like Kyrylo Davydenko has been cut.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Davydenko can do anything to dispel that myth.

Davydenko is squirming around, avoiding Sillva's attempts to control the action.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Davydenko takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
