With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Lloyd Christmas!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, John Mangel and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Butler gets a takedown into half guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Christmas gets full guard.
Butler controls from within his opponent's guard.
Butler advances position into side control!
Christmas is trying to get back to half guard.

Butler stands up.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Christmas scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Butler looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Butler is trying to maintain the position but Christmas is very close to passing his half guard.

Christmas decides to stand and escape the position.

Butler closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Christmas to the mat! Christmas manages to get full guard.

Butler stands up over Christmas, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Christmas can do anything to dispel that myth.
Butler wants to pass the guard but Christmas is keeping the position.

Butler got a little sloppy there for a moment and Christmas has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Butler has managed to get both his arms back between Christmas's legs - danger averted.
Christmas looks gassed!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Christmas trying to keep a closed guard but Butler is proving a slippery customer.
Butler is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Butler avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Butler would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Christmas trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
Butler has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Butler wants to control from the top but Christmas keeps moving.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Lenny Butler.
Butler cracks Christmas with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

Butler moves into the clinch successfully.

Butler breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Butler misses with a low kick.

Butler shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Butler showed some decent athleticism there.
Christmas is staying active underneath Butler, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Butler drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Butler wants to control but Christmas is keeping him busy.
Christmas takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Butler wants to take a breather but Christmas manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Butler.
Butler lands a couple of digs.

Butler working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Butler trying to control the position from guard on top but Christmas is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Christmas lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Butler!

Christmas working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Butler turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Christmas off and cradles Butler's limp body as Christmas celebrates with his corner.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:46 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Lloyd Christmas!
