Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Nic Latta (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tim Duncan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nic Latta!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tim Duncan!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Chris Downing and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Duncan takes the fight into the clinch.
Duncan wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Duncan looking for a takedown.

Latta's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Latta really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Duncan gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Latta wants to stand but Duncan has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Duncan looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Latta tries to free his leg and advance position but Duncan is retaining full guard.
Latta wants to control from the top but Duncan keeps moving.
Duncan wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Latta manages to pass to side control.

The fighters are battling for position here. Duncan manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Duncan looking to hit a scissor sweep but Latta is one step ahead there.
Latta knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Duncan on the ground.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Duncan manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Duncan looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Duncan tries to bum rush Latta with a series of wild strikes but Latta uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Latta showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Duncan.
Latta tries to close the distance and clinch up but Duncan swats him away and circles back towards the center.
A looping hook to the body misses from Duncan. Latta does a little dance to reset his feet.
The fight stays on the outside here - Duncan looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Nic Latta has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tim Duncan.
Latta throws a series of punches but Duncan moves out of range.

Duncan decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Latta tries to score a power double leg takedown but Duncan sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Latta somewhat.

Duncan shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Latta is trying to defend but Duncan finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
This has been an exciting period of action!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Latta is refusing to be controlled, as Duncan sits in half guard.

A close round but Tim Duncan will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Duncan tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Latta manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Latta tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Duncan darts in and clinches Latta up against the cage.
Latta jumps guard but Duncan stands there with Latta around his waist. Latta gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Duncan goes for a takedown in the clinch but Latta prevents it.
Duncan slows down the pace here.

Latta will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Duncan wants to stand but Latta has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Duncan gets to his feet - Latta follows without any prompting.
Duncan looks for a takedown but Latta sprawls well.
Duncan looks to land a body kick but Latta moved away.
Duncan doesn't manage to clinch there - Latta circles away.
Duncan misses with an uppercut.
Duncan shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Latta pinned against the cage. Latta gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Nic Latta has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tim Duncan.

Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Latta!

A telegraphed right hand from Duncan misses the target.
Latta dodges the punch combination from Duncan.

Duncan fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Latta sprawls well initially but Duncan persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Duncan is trying to control the action in half guard but Latta is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Well, if Duncan is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Tim Duncan wasn't active enough on the ground.

Latta darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Duncan manages to get to full guard.

Duncan lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Latta!

Tim Duncan showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Duncan ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Latta moves away.
No luck for Duncan with that takedown attempt.

Duncan dives in and scores a takedown into Latta's guard.
Latta wants to sweep here but Duncan controlling him for the moment.

Duncan drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Duncan jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Latta looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Latta looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Duncan puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Duncan moves nicely into side control.
Duncan is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

Latta struggling a bit here.

Duncan in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Latta is tapping! That's the end of the fight!
