Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
20 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Raimo Tuomela!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Amir Dracon!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Mauricio Rocha and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick lands from Tuomela that sends Dracon to the canvas. Dracon tries to scramble back to his feet but Tuomela brings him back down into side control.
It looks like Amir Dracon has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Tuomela has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Dracon shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Tuomela misses with a body shot.
Dracon gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Tuomela.
Dracon throws a head kick that misses
and Tuomela makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Dracon tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
A bone on bone clash there as Tuomela blocks the leg kick.
Tuomela slips under a jab.
Dracon bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Dracon tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Tuomela swivels and escapes.
Tuomela connects with a good right hand that stumbles Dracon. Dracon circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Tuomela works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Dracon is rocked!
That has opened up Amir Dracon's cut even more.
Tuomela throws a powerful right kick. Dracon tried to block low but the kick was high! Dracon was taken right off of his feet! Tuomela jumps in to finish the job and the ref tackles him! The fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Raimo Tuomela!
Our winner, Raimo Tuomela, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
