The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Purcell gets a takedown into half guard.
Scott really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Scott is looking to get back to full guard here but Purcell has managed to pass to side control instead.

Purcell postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Scott looks a forlorn figure.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Scott knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Purcell on the ground.
Purcell trying to control but Scott is having none of it.
Scott is bucking up trying to escape but Purcell cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Purcell has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Purcell has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Scott's face.

Scott turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Purcell off and cradles Scott's limp body as Purcell celebrates with his corner.
