Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Haki Ngata (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wagner Fabiano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ngata shoots for a takedown but Fabiano saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
The crowd cheers as Ngata lands an impressive looking overhand right. Fabiano doesn't seem phased though.

Ngata gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Ngata will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Fabiano up against the cage.
Fabiano is trying to break the clinch but Ngata has him pressed against the cage.

Ngata gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Ngata tries to pass to full mount but Fabiano defends it.
Ngata is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Fabiano pushes Ngata off looking to stand but Ngata dives back in and keeps control.

Ngata slips a nice elbow through Fabiano's hands, connecting with Fabiano's forehead.
Fabiano looks gassed!
Ngata winds up and cracks Fabiano with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Ngata content to control rather than advance.
Ngata will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Ngata has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Ngata winds up and cracks Fabiano with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Ngata thows a huge punch but Fabiano dodges it nicely.
Ngata takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ngata is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Ngata lands strikes from half guard.
Ngata is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

Ngata has control of Fabiano's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Fabiano regains control of the situation pretty easily.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Ngata cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Fabiano is rocked!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Ngata loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Fabiano scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Ngata land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Ngata stands and salutes the crowd.
