Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jose Aldo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daniel Andreas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jose Aldo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Daniel Andreas!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Nard Betker and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Aldo clinches up with Andreas and pushes him back against the cage.
Andreas gets underhooks to prevent Aldo's takedown attempt.
Andreas is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Aldo is defending well.

Aldo has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Andreas uses from the top position.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Aldo had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Andreas defends it easily.
Aldo controls Andreas momentarily but Andreas frees himself.
Andreas trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Aldo utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Aldo wants to stand but Andreas is controlling the position.

Andreas avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Andreas postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Andreas throws a big elbow that misses.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Aldo throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Andreas lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Andreas passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Aldo manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Andreas is looking to advance position but Aldo won't allow it.
Andreas is trying to control the action in half guard but Aldo is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Aldo wants to control but Andreas is keeping busy.
Andreas not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Aldo on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Aldo gets full guard.
Aldo bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Andreas's guard.

Andreas has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Aldo is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Andreas.

Andreas really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Aldo. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Aldo stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Aldo fails in his attempt to clinch.
Aldo closes this distance looking for a takedown but Andreas circles away.
Andreas tries for a takedown but Aldo sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Aldo lands a front kick.
Andreas looks gassed!

Aldo closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Aldo lands in his opponent's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jose Aldo dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Andreas takes a head kick and keeps coming.


It looks like Daniel Andreas has been cut.
Aldo shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Andreas counters with a takedown into side control.
Andreas looks up at the clock and then as Aldo takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Andreas smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Andreas taking a break here but Aldo is having none of it and regains half guard.

Aldo has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Andreas. Oh but Aldo has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Andreas goes limp - he's gone! Aldo jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Jose Aldo!
A very excited looking Jose Aldo made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
