Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Esteban Delgado (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gota Yo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Yo has chosen Pass Out as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Esteban Delgado has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Esteban Delgado!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 15 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gota Yo!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Reed Andrews and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yo ducks under a wild hook from Delgado.
Yo wants to clinch up but Delgado keeps it at a distance.
Yo fails with an attempt to clinch.
Yo tries to close the distance and clinch up but Delgado swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Delgado tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

Delgado gets a takedown into half guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Delgado scoring with strikes to the body and head.

Yo looks like he's trying to stand up.
Delgado is taking a breather. Yo says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Gota Yo hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

and Delgado decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Yo's guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Delgado accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Yo tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Delgado is able to avoid easily.

Yo tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Delgado manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Delgado lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Delgado lands with an uppercut that bounces Yo off the cage and back into range.
Delgado avoids a punch combination nicely.

Delgado throws a body punch but Yo moves out of range.
Yo takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Delgado lets loose with a powerful body kick. Yo will feel that in the morning.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Delgado connects with a nice short shot to Yo's temple.
Delgado looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Yo with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Delgado lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Yo quite badly. Yo pulls Delgado in close trying to recover. Delgado postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Yo on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Yo doesn't seem to be complaining too much.
