Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between tj Sox (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Isaiah Ferguson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ferguson has a pretty significant injury - he really shouldn't be fighting right now but he's a warrior and he's here none the less! Isaiah Ferguson looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, tj Sox!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Isaiah Ferguson!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Robert Twigg and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sox lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Ferguson backs up against the cage.
Ferguson looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Sox fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Ferguson avoids it really well and circles away.
Sox throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Sox shoots in for a takedown but Ferguson shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Sox clinches up with Ferguson and pushes him back against the cage.
Sox wants to get back to striking at distance but Ferguson won't allow it.
Sox is trying to break free.

Sox pulls Ferguson into guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Sox pulls Ferguson in close to prevent any damage.

Sox escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Ferguson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Sox working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Ferguson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Ferguson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Sox is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Sox has Ferguson pulled in close to control his posture.

Ferguson avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Ferguson is fighting to break Sox's control of his arms but Sox is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Sox is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Sox looking to hit a scissor sweep but Ferguson is one step ahead there.
Sox is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Still in half guard, Sox seems content to control.
Sox has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Sox throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Sox is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Ferguson is just riding it out for now. Sox eventually gives up the hold.

Sox throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Sox works his way into side control.
Sox misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Ferguson tries to get back to half guard but can't.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Sox decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Sox shoots in for a takedown but Ferguson shows good takedown defense.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

tj Sox dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Sox gets a clinch.

Sox breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Sox has closed the distance and engaged Ferguson in a clinch.
Ferguson is trying to push Sox away but Sox has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Sox has had enough of the clinch but Ferguson keeps him there for the moment.
Ferguson on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Sox wants to break the clinch but can't.
Ferguson keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Sox's efforts to push away.

Sox has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Ferguson uses from the top position.

Sox throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Sox manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Ferguson manages to get himself to full guard.

Sox gets to his feet - Ferguson follows without any prompting.
Sox lands with a hook. Ferguson tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Sox shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Sox shoots in and drives through. Ferguson sprawls well.
Sox looks to land a body kick but Ferguson moved away.

Sox moves into range and clinches up with Ferguson.

Sox's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Sox tries to score a power double leg takedown but Ferguson sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Sox somewhat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for tj Sox. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Sox tries to work over Ferguson's front leg with a kick but Ferguson checks it.

Sox pushes Ferguson up against the cage in a clinch.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Sox decides to pull guard.
Sox is pulling down on Ferguson's head. It's preventing any offense from Ferguson, at least for the moment.

Sox scrambles and gets back to his feet.

Sox closes the distance and pushes Ferguson back into the cage.
Sox is working for takedown but Ferguson is calmly controlling the position for now.

Sox has Ferguson up against the cage in a clinch.
Sox goes for a takedown attempt but Ferguson pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Sox fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Sox dives in and grabs Ferguson's left leg, looking for a takedown. Ferguson pushes down on Sox's head and hops out.

Ferguson wants a takedown but no success here.
Ferguson takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Sox has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Ferguson after a bit of a struggle.

Sox goes for a takedown attempt but Ferguson pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Sox is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Ferguson can do to turn this around?

Sox changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Ferguson tries to avoid it but Sox manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Ferguson to the ground. Ferguson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

The fight stays on the outside here - Ferguson looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Ferguson fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Sox decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Sox stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.

Horrible takedown by Sox or perhaps it was just good defense by Ferguson which made him look bad.
Nice sprawl there from Sox as Ferguson shoots in.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Sox.

Sox changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Ferguson tries to avoid it but Sox manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Ferguson to the ground. Ferguson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Sox closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Sox prevents Ferguson from improving his position.
Sox thows a huge punch but Ferguson dodges it nicely.

Ferguson wants to control but Sox is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Well Sox has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
