Chan kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Ikenai Tayou. Both fighters look pumped up here. And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 7 - 2, fighting out of Amsterdam, Steve Limmen!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Daniel Blasius and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Limmen misses the shot to the body.
Limmen throws a series of punches but Chan avoids them all with ease.
Good shot there by Limmen.
Chan closes this distance looking for a takedown but Limmen circles away.
A right-left combo lands from Limmen.
Chan is trying hard to land a takedown here. Limmen sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Limmen throws an off balance right hand

and Chan counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Chan thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Limmen's head.

Chan is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Limmen has managed to free his arm - good work.
Limmen is refusing to be controlled, as Chan sits in half guard.
Chan is really struggling to control Limmen but he's trying to hold on to the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Chan is working for a submission of some sort.
Chan not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Chan wants to take a breather but Limmen is having none of it.

Chan is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Limmen is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Yamapi Chan!
A determined Yamapi Chan didn't want to dwell on this fight in his post fight interview. Instead he was more keen to state he wants a title shot. Let's see if he gets it!
