Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Austin Powers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Richard Nixon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nixon comes into a darkened arena with his song building. The Upsetters - Dread Lion kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Donatello Bradman and Eliza Hachem.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Powers tries a head kick but it misses.
Powers throws a lazy right hand but Nixon sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Nixon fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Powers has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

and Nixon counters with a straight right hand.

Powers catches Nixon with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

and Nixon makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Powers really felt that one!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Powers shoots in looking for a takedown. Nixon tries to sprawl out of it but Powers keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Nixon manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Powers takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Powers thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Powers is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Nixon defends it well.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Powers accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

A very excited looking Richard Nixon rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
