Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between James Lytle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Longfellow Deeds (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Deeds is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Evils Deeds. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Longfellow Deeds enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, James Lytle!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Longfellow Deeds!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, John Mangel and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lytle looks for the body kick but Deeds saw that one coming.
Lytle goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Lytle, right into the meat.
Lytle swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Deeds throws a hook to the side of Lytle's head but Lytle sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
No joy there for Lytle, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Lytle looks to throw a body kick
and Deeds counters with a straight right hand.
A big left from Deeds misses.
A slow jab from Lytle misses its intended target.
Deeds fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Lytle avoids it really well and circles away.
The fighters circle momentarily. Deeds darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
James Lytle seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lytle throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Deeds listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Lytle fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Deeds manages to avoid it.
Deeds throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Lytle lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Deeds circles away quickly and effectively.

Lytle looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
A nice combination there by Lytle.
Lytle tries to clinch but Deeds moves out of range.
Lytle defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Deeds.
Deeds swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Deeds darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Deeds is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Lytle is just riding it out for now. Deeds eventually gives up the hold.

Deeds cracks Lytle with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Longfellow Deeds will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Lytle slips under a jab.

Lytle avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Deeds slips a jab and a cross from Lytle.
Lytle throws a jab but it's blocked by Deeds.
Lytle fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Lytle lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Deeds at a distance.
Lytle tries to score with a low kick but Deeds moves his leg out of the way.

Lytle lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

Lytle does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
