Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Frank Dennis and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thon misses with a hook
and Doet makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Doet tries to move into range but Thon moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Thon misses with a hook
and Doet counters with a slapping leg kick.
Thon looks to land a right hand but Doet moved out of range.
Doet takes a jab right on the kisser.
Thon misses with a right hand
and Doet counters with a body kick that stops Thon in his tracks momentarily.
No joy there for Thon, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Thon with a lazy takedown attempt
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Thon lands a nice hook to Doet's body. Doet takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Thon misses with a hook
and Doet counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Doet throws a leg kick which misses Thon's front leg but catches the back leg as Thon tries to avoid it.
Doet uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Thon.
Doet feints and as Thon raises his hands in defense, Doet changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Doet wants to pass the guard but Thon is keeping the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Doet is working hard here to advance position.
Thon has control of Doet's left arm, preventing Doet from doing any damage.
Thon is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Poor strikes thrown by Doet there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Thon is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Doet's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Doet's back!
Thon lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.
Doet is in bad spot here.

You can see the frustration on Doet's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Thon loads up on a big right hand but Doet slips the punch.

Doet lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Thon dips to his left and cracks Doet with an uppercut!

Doet avoids the body shot from Thon.
Doet takes a shot to the body in his stride.

Dickie Thon showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Doet pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

Thon throws a shot from downtown. Doet moves away and avoids it.

Doet tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Doet has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Thon is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Doet off and has taken his back!
Thon is hanging on to Doet's back as he tries to escape.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Thon doesn't have the hooks in and Doet manages to turn into his guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Doet accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Doet trying to control but Thon is working from the bottom.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Thon is looking to stand up but Doet isn't so interested in that idea.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to John Doet.
I think Doet has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
