PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cerventes Bison (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lincoln Thomas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bison kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is The Beast by Tech N9ne. Thomas comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Pulse of the Maggots kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! On his way into the cage it seems that Cerventes Bison has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Cerventes Bison seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 6 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Lincoln Thomas!
The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Dmitry Maklakov and Ivan Kurochkin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bison lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

Thomas throws a body punch but Bison moves out of range.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Cerventes Bison. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Thomas fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Bison manages to avoid it.
Bison fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Thomas looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

That was a close second round but I would say that Cerventes Bison will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Oooooh!!! Thomas has knocked Bison down with a huge combo! Thomas steps away and waves a wobbly Bison back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

Bison throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Thomas's waist but Thomas gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Bison off to one side.

Thomas lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Bison circles away quickly and effectively.

Bison does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Bison accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
