The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Morgan bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Nice sprawl there from Ronaldo as Morgan shoots in.

Morgan gets the takedown into side control.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Ronaldo regains half guard.

Morgan is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Ronaldo looks like he's trying to stand up.

Morgan seems to be working for a kimura but Ronaldo defends the submission attempt.

Morgan might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Ronaldo kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Ronaldo kicks Morgan off and gets back to his feet.

and Ronaldo counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

It looks like David Morgan has been cut.
Some bone on bone action there as Morgan checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Morgan misses with a takedown attempt
and Ronaldo counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Ronaldo takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Ronaldo throws out a loose jab but Morgan uses good head movement to avoid it.
David Morgan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Morgan is rocked!

Morgan dives in and scores a takedown into Ronaldo's guard.

Ronaldo wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Morgan manages to pass to side control.

Morgan manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Morgan is not content to let Ronaldo control the position.
Morgan wants to improve his position but Ronaldo is controlling well.
Morgan is pressing down on Ronaldo's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Ronaldo has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Ronaldo is working Morgan over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

and Ronaldo counters with a crisp one two that drops Morgan! Ronaldo thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Morgan to his feet! Morgan is in big trouble!
