Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Terrance Pingshaw (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Phillipe Nover (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pingshaw comes into the arena with Heart of a Champion blaring out of the sound system. Terrance Pingshaw has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Terrance Pingshaw!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Phillipe Nover!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, George Francis and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pingshaw moves out of range as Nover throws a body kick.
Nover wants to clinch up but Pingshaw keeps it at a distance.
Nover takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Nover misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Pingshaw ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Nover moves away.
Nover looks to clinch
and Pingshaw counters with a three punch combo that has Nover backing up. Nover nods at Pingshaw to acknowledge the strikes.
Pingshaw lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Pingshaw swings for the body but Nover moves out of range.
Pingshaw works over Nover's head and body with a nice combination.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Pingshaw tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Nover was well out of range. Poor timing from Pingshaw.
Nover wants to clinch but Pingshaw slips to the side

and Pingshaw counters with a combination of strikes to the head and body that crumple Nover!


Nover is rocked!


It looks like Phillipe Nover has been cut.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Nover is looking for a sweep. Pingshaw is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Nover is still in real trouble! Can Pingshaw finish him?

That's one minute gone in the round.
Pingshaw has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Nover seems to have recovered his senses.
Nover takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

Pingshaw jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Nover manages to avoid the submission attempt.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Pingshaw landing a few strikes.
Nover pushes Pingshaw away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Pingshaw gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Pingshaw will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Pingshaw controlling the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Pingshaw seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Nover for as long as he can get away with.
Pingshaw's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Nover sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Nover is trying to stand up here but Pingshaw is controlling him well.
Nover has hold of Pingshaw's hands but Pingshaw slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Pingshaw really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Pingshaw works his way into full mount!

Pingshaw goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Nover is on top in guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Nover lying in Pingshaw's guard like a wet fish here, stalling away. Pingshaw decides he's had enough of all that nonsense - he escapes his hips and locks up an armbar! Wow, that was slick! Nover taps! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Terrance Pingshaw!
Our winner, Terrance Pingshaw, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
