Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Sam Nut (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jan Columbar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Sam Nut!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jan Columbar!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Matti Vanhoillinen and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Columbar cracks Nut with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Nut is looking to chop away at Columbar's legs.
Columbar feints and then cracks Nut's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Nut down.
Nut takes a kick to the side of the head.
Columbar throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Nut throws a half hearted mid kick.
Columbar moves out of range of the leg kick from Nut.

Columbar waves his right hand out in front of him, looking to distract Nut. Oh, he's unloaded a beast of a left hand - it worked! He's dropped Nut to the canvas! Can he finish him!?


Nut is rocked!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Nut preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Oh Nut is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Columbar wants to control from the top but Nut keeps moving.
Columbar stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Nut swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Nut seems to have got his legs back now.
Nut can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Columbar controls the pace.
Columbar has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Nut looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Sam Nut seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Columbar counters with a slapping leg kick.
Columbar throws a head kick that Nut semi-blocks.

Columbar shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Nut defends it nicely.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Nut.
Nut looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Nut wants to clinch.

A bone on bone clash there as Nut blocks the leg kick.
Columbar tried to score with a low kick but Nut checks it.

That kick from Nut tenderised Columbar's leg. Columbar is trying to keep his angry face on.

Columbar lands a nice hook to Nut's body. Nut takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

That kick from Columbar tenderised Nut's leg. Nut is trying to keep his angry face on.

Nut fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Columbar has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

and Nut counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Columbar is lucky that one didn't land flush.
A punch lands to the side of Columbar 's head but he takes it in his stride.

Nut is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
Nut does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Nut defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Columbar.
Nut throws a leg kick but Columbar sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Nut throws a low kick, looking for Columbar's leg but Columbar calmly moves out of range.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Nut enables Columbar to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Nut manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Columbar scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Columbar tries to score a power double leg takedown but Nut sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Columbar somewhat.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Columbar has gone for a leg lock! Nut slips out almost immediately though and dives into Columbar's guard.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Jan Columbar showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Nut connects with a leg kick. Columbar looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Nut feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Columbar's calf.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Nut lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Columbar has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Columbar and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Columbar sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Nut is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Nut is not content to let Columbar control the position.
Nut is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Well, if Columbar is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Nut wants to control but Columbar is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Jan Columbar is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Columbar is looking to take a break and control but Nut is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Nut knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Columbar on the ground.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Jan Columbar.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Columbar, as that shot connected.
Sam Nut has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Nut explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.

I've got Columbar winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Jan Columbar decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
