Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between David Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Juan Sanchez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jones comes to the cage accompanied by Hoist the Colours. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, David Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 12 - 2, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Juan Sanchez!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Leandro Rodrigues and Thiago Cunha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sanchez throws a low kick but Jones moves out of range easily.

Sanchez gets the takedown into side control.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Sanchez is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Jones knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
You can see the frustration on Jones's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Sanchez wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jones keeps working.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Jones lands a nice short elbow.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Sanchez is looking for a sweep. Jones is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Jones slips a nice elbow through Sanchez's hands, connecting with Sanchez's forehead.

Sanchez uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Jones.
Jones takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Sanchez has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Jones.
Sanchez keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Sanchez tries a head kick but it misses.
Sanchez slips under a jab.
Sanchez closes the distance and clinches up with Jones, looking for a takedown. Sanchez pushes Jones against the cage but Jones circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Sanchez tries for a takedown but Jones sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Sanchez keeps the fight on the outside.
Jones takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
A swing and a miss from Jones.
Jones waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Sanchez.

Jones checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Jones scores with a jab to the head.

An inside leg kick from Jones misses.
Jones throws a looping overhand right but Sanchez ducks down to avoid it.
Sanchez just misses with a punch to the body.
Jones scoring well with a low kick there.
Jones scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

Sanchez scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Sanchez takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Jones gets full guard.
Sanchez wants to control from the top but Jones keeps moving.

Sanchez drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Sanchez jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to David Jones.
Well Sanchez has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
