PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Aaron Archer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eugene Carabias (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carabias has chosen Sapattivuosi - Hautuumaan Lapset as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Aaron Archer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Eugene Carabias!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, David Schapiro and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Archer just misses with a punch to the body.

Archer closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Carabias takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Archer wants to lay and pray for a moment but Carabias keeps working.

Carabias is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
Archer tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.

Carabias is not in a great position here, taking some shots.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Carabias decides to stand back up. Carabias steps back and let's Archer get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

We're going to have a standup here because Aaron Archer wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Archer fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Carabias manages to avoid it.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Archer, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Aaron Archer decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
