PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Bums Bi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alfons Aberg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Bi might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Infected Mushroom - Killing Time. Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Anni Minnemäki and Tarja Halkonen.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bi fails with an attempt to clinch.

Aberg clinches.
Aberg is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Bi is defending well for now.
Bi tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Aberg's elbow.

Aberg breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
The fight stays on the outside here - Aberg looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Bi shoots and misses
and Aberg counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

It looks like Bums Bi has been cut.
Bi moves in looking to clinch but Aberg pushes him off.
Aberg throws a nice looking combination but Bi bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Bi misses with a takedown
and Aberg counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Bi thinking.

Bi moves into the clinch successfully.
Bi wants to take the fight to the mat but Aberg manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bums Bi. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Bi jumps guard but Aberg turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Aberg fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Bi prevents Aberg from breaking the clinch.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Aberg wants to break the clinch but can't.

Bi turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Bi manages to end up in side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Aberg manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Aberg tries to pass the half guard into mount. Bi knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Bi is looking to improve his position.

Aberg seems to be looking for submissions.
Aberg wants to control but Bi is keeping him busy.

Bi wants to sweep here but Aberg controlling him for the moment.

Bi is looking for a triangle but Aberg pushes his legs off easily.

Bi working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Aberg doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Aberg manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Bi controls Aberg momentarily but Aberg frees himself.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Alfons Aberg wasn't active enough on the ground.
Aberg throws a nice looking combination but Bi bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Bi has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

Bi moves into the clinch.
Bi lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Aberg or not.

Bi tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Aberg smiles and moves away.

Aberg clinches up with Bi and pushes him back against the cage.
Bi has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Aberg after a bit of a struggle.

Aberg's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Bi shoots in looking for a takedown. Aberg tries to sprawl out of it but Bi keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Aberg manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Bi tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Aberg paws at him with a jab and circles away.

and Aberg counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Bi is breathing heavily.
Aberg scores with a crisp jab that stopped Bi in his tracks.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Oooooh!!! Aberg has knocked Bi down with a huge combo! Aberg steps away and waves a wobbly Bi back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

Aberg tries a knee to the head but Bi blocks it.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Bi is defended easily by Aberg.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Bi swats away the attempt to clinch by Aberg.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Alfons Aberg dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Bums Bi's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Bi tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Aberg swivels and escapes.
Bi is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Aberg.

Bums Bi's cut is getting worse.
Aberg catches Bi with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Bi shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Aberg as he jumps to the side.
Alfons Aberg seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Bi shoots for a takedown but Aberg saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Bi backs away from a small jab... but Aberg lunges forward with a huge superman punch! Bi crumples to the ground as his mouth piece is sent flying! Aberg with a spectacular finish!
