PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Joe Mamuh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jon Snitch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mamuh comes to the ring accompanied by http://youtu.be/q6FNpV7-cyo. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Joe Mamuh!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jon Snitch!
The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Josh West and Ryoma Takatsuka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mamuh moves in looking to clinch but Snitch pushes him off.
Mamuh doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Snitch decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Mamuh's guard.
Snitch slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Snitch wants to pass the guard but Mamuh is keeping the position.
Mamuh throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Mamuh has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Snitch won't allow Mamuh to get back to his feet.
Snitch wants to control from the top but Mamuh keeps moving.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Jon Snitch was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Snitch avoids a punch combination nicely.
Mamuh throws a right hand that Snitch ducks under and follows up with a left that Snitch also avoids with ease.

Snitch lands a leg kick that knocks Mamuh off balance momentarily.
Snitch dodges the punch combination from Mamuh.
Mamuh pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Snitch back to the ropes. Mamuh follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Mamuh rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Snitch moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Mamuh is looking to slow Snitch down with leg kicks.

and Snitch counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Snitch wants to pass the guard but Mamuh is keeping the position.

Snitch thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Mamuh stops Snitch from passing to mount.

Snitch wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Mamuh, who protects the arm well.
Snitch lands a few punches from side control.

Snitch is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Mamuh knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Snitch is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Snitch wants to work for an arm triangle but Mamuh is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

and Snitch counters with a single leg into guard. Mamuh didn't expect that.
Mamuh controls Snitch momentarily but Snitch frees himself.

Snitch seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Mamuh does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Mamuh lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

Snitch changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Mamuh looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Snitch tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Snitch has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Mamuh is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Snitch is nestled in close to Mamuh, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Mamuh is refusing to be controlled, as Snitch sits in half guard.

Jon Snitch showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Mamuh fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Mamuh throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Mamuh fails to land with a series of punches.
Snitch tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Mamuh swivels and escapes.
Mamuh throws a hook to the side of Snitch's head but Snitch sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Snitch shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Snitch was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Mamuh tries to lock up and control but Snitch gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Mamuh is wriggling around trying to escape.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Snitch cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Mamuh really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Mamuh is trying desperately to improve position.
Snitch fails to advance to Mamuh's back.

Snitch pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Snitch goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Mamuh turns into him and now he's in Snitch's guard.

Mamuh is looking to work some ground and pound but Snitch has wrist control.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Mamuh closes the distance but Snitch moves to the side
and Snitch counters with a left and a right that stings Mamuh.
Snitch uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Mamuh.
Joe Mamuh seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mamuh tries to close the distance and clinch up but Snitch swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Snitch keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
A slapping leg kick lands for Mamuh.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

so Snitch counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Mamuh is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Snitch is controlling him.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Snitch trying to control but Mamuh is working from the bottom.
Snitch is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Mamuh looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Snitch postures up in Mamuh's guard and throws a big left but Mamuh blocks it.
Mamuh manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Snitch sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.

Snitch is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Mamuh pulls his head out easily.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Snitch is trying to maintain the position but Mamuh is very close to passing his half guard.

Jon Snitch comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Snitch winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
