The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Souza tries to score a power double leg takedown but Aleksandrovich sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Souza somewhat.
Aleksandrovich lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Souza shoots in for a takedown but Aleksandrovich shows good takedown defense.
Souza misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ronaldo Souza. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Souza ducks right into an uppercut from Aleksandrovich.
Aleksandrovich lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Souza backs up against the cage.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Souza.
Souza takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Aleksandrovich lands with an overhand left.

letting Aleksandrovich counter with a right hand.

Aleksandrovich lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Souza circles away quickly and effectively.
Sergey Aleksandrovich seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Aleksandrovich lands a big uppercut and Souza crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Souza looks OK. Aleksandrovich waves Souza back to his feet!

Souza is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Souza takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Souza gets caught by a brutal right hook which buckles his knees! Souza tries to backpedal with his spaghettilegs but Aleksandrovich is headhunting and goes for the kill. A jab and a right hook connect and Souza buckles badly as his eyes roll back. The referee steps in and saves Souza!! Souza is complaining but he was clearly out on his feet. Aleksandrovich throws his mouthpiece into the crowd. Mmmm spit-tastic.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:20 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Sergey Aleksandrovich!
