These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kurtis Di Angelo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Calvin King!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

King closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
King is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

King decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Di Angelo bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of King's head.
Di Angelo fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but King avoids it really well and circles away.
Di Angelo tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but King paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Di Angelo throws a series of punches but King moves out of range.
A solid body kick from Di Angelo.
King throws a nice head kick!
King fails to land with a series of punches.
King looks gassed!
King on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Di Angelo looks for a takedown but King sprawls well.
King showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Di Angelo.
Di Angelo moves out of range of the body kick.
King works over Di Angelo's head and body with a nice combination.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Sloppy strikes from Di Angelo. Those never looked like landing.
King displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Di Angelo.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kurtis Di Angelo. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Di Angelo avoids the head kick by King.
King tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Di Angelo breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
King throws a sloppy head kick and Di Angelo moves out of range easily.
Di Angelo pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces King back to the cage. Di Angelo follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Di Angelo rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but King moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Di Angelo pushes King up against the cage in a clinch.

Di Angelo jumps into guard, dragging King to the mat.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Di Angelo looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

King is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Di Angelo has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. King is looking to defend but Di Angelo has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for King! Di Angelo pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, King taps out and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:27 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Kurtis Di Angelo!
Kurtis Di Angelo seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
