Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Shawnn Chen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sid Mission (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mission has chosen Rodeo Song as his entrance music. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mission with a jab.
Chen bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Chen leaves Mission with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Chen avoids the body shot from Mission.
Mission misses with a hook to the body
and Chen counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Chen moves out of range of the strikes.
Chen throws a hook but Mission avoids it easily.
Chen takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Mission shoots in looking for a takedown but Chen manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Mission's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Shawnn Chen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sid Mission.

It looks like Shawnn Chen has been cut.
Mission changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Chen tries to avoid it but Mission manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Chen to the ground. Chen escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Mission connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Chen's hands.
Mission throws a body punch but Chen moves out of range.
Mission thows a body shot but no joy.

Chen stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Chen wants it to stay on the feet.
Mission dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Chen thows a left - swing and a miss!
Chen avoids the body shot from Mission.
Mission takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Donk. Mission catches Chen right on the button with a cross.
The fighters circling - Mission throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Chen lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Mission looks to land a right hand but Chen moved out of range.

Mission misses with a double jab.
Mission rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Chen moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Mission throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Chen's waist but Chen gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Mission off to one side.
Chen tries to clinch there but Mission circles away.
Chen misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Mission.
A big right from Mission misses.
Mission will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Chen displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Mission.

Mission throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Chen sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Mission misses with a looping left.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Mission drives through with a takedown into Chen's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

A looping hook to the body misses from Chen. Mission does a little dance to reset his feet.
A slow jab from Chen misses its intended target.
Chen throws out a loose jab but Mission uses good head movement to avoid it.
Chen swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Mission stalks Chen and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Chen's face. Chen staggers backwards, shaken.

Chen is rocked!
Mission scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Chen doesn't seem bothered though.
Oh Chen is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Mission shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Mission showed some decent athleticism there.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Mission is taking a breather. Chen says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Mission has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Mission lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Chen quite badly. Chen pulls Mission in close trying to recover. Mission postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Chen on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Chen doesn't seem to be complaining too much.
