Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Monzer Al Kassar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luiz Anderton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Hugh Johnson and Eliza Hachem.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Al Kassar lands a glancing blow to the side of Anderton's head.

It looks like Luiz Anderton has been cut.
Anderton throws a looping overhand right but Al Kassar ducks down to avoid it.
Anderton looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Al Kassar catches Anderton with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Al Kassar misses the jab.
A combination from Anderton does no damage.
Al Kassar loads up on a big right hand but Anderton slips the punch.

Anderton scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Anderton throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Al Kassar.

Al Kassar jabs Anderton right on the nose. Anderton blinks but takes it well.
Al Kassar throws a lazy right hand but Anderton sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Al Kassar takes a swing at Anderton's ribcage but misses.
Al Kassar scores with a jab. Anderton acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Al Kassar misses with a looping right.
Anderton misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Anderton tries to bum rush Al Kassar with a series of wild strikes but Al Kassar uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Anderton shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Al Kassar sprawls well. Al Kassar wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Anderton gets slowly back to his feet.
Al Kassar works Anderton's body with a nice hook.
Al Kassar comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Al Kassar throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Anderton stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Al Kassar stalks Anderton and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Anderton's face. Anderton staggers backwards, shaken.
Anderton takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Al Kassar darts in and out, connecting with a jab.

That has opened up Luiz Anderton's cut even more.
Al Kassar works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

Anderton is rocked!
Al Kassar lands hard precision jab right on the jaw that stiffens Anderton up and sends him tumbling to the mat! The ref grabs Al Kassar from behind before he can pounce. Some folks in the crowd didn't like that stoppage, but I saw Anderton's eyes roll way back in his head, he was done.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Monzer Al Kassar!
After winning the bout, Monzer Al Kassar thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
