Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jesus Herman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anthony Macpherson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Macpherson throws a combination that misses

and Herman counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Macpherson is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Herman is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Macpherson trying to keep a closed guard but Herman is proving a slippery customer.

Herman drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Herman jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Herman accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Herman is really struggling to control Macpherson but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Macpherson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Herman. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Herman wants to control from the top but Macpherson keeps moving.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Macpherson can do anything to dispel that myth.

Herman got a little sloppy there for a moment and Macpherson has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Herman has managed to get both his arms back between Macpherson's legs - danger averted.

Herman drops back looking for a leg! Macpherson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Macpherson manages to kick Herman off! Herman jumps back into Macpherson's guard.

Macpherson stays in close to Herman's body and controls the position.
Macpherson is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
It looks like Macpherson might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Anthony Macpherson hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Macpherson shoots in for a double leg but Herman sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Herman closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Herman maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Macpherson could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Herman has cracked it and Macpherson is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Herman!
