The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Vladimir Khabensky and Aleksandr Martynov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Werdum throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Ilijito was covering up waiting for the punch and Werdum finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Werdumis looking to pass into half guard but Ilijito pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Ilijito is in guard.
Werdum throwing rabbit punches from the bottom - showing the judges that he's keeping busy.
Werdum seems keen to control Ilijito's posture.
Werdum is looking to sinch up a triangle. Ilijito throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Werdum's body to avoid the submission. Werdum has instead reached around Ilijito's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Werdum arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
